Ladakh LG Vinai Kumar Saxena Meets PM Modi, Focus on Development and Tourism

Lieutenant Governor of Ladakh Vinai Kumar Saxena on Friday met Prime Minister Narendra Modi in New Delhi to discuss key aspects related to the Union Territory’s development.


Focus on Infrastructure, Tourism and Sustainable Growth

During the meeting, Saxena sought guidance from the Prime Minister and reiterated his commitment to advancing Ladakh’s growth in line with the Centre’s vision.

PMO Confirms Meeting

The Prime Minister’s Office confirmed that the Lieutenant Governor of Ladakh called on PM Modi, highlighting the importance of continued coordination between the Centre and the Union Territory.


Push for Peace, Dialogue and Inclusive Development

Earlier, Saxena had welcomed the Union Home Ministry’s decision to revoke the detention of activist Sonam Wangchuk, calling it a step towards:

  • Constructive engagement

He emphasised that Ladakh’s identity is rooted in its peaceful and patriotic ethos, and issues should be resolved through dialogue rather than agitation.
