Prime Minister Narendra Modi to Inaugurate Key Projects in Jammu on 20th February

In a significant development, Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi is all set to visit Jammu on 20th February, 2024. The visit aims to bolster infrastructure, education, and healthcare in the region. Here are the highlights of the upcoming event:

  1. Multiple Development Projects: At approximately 11:30 AM, the Prime Minister will preside over a public function at the Maulana Azad Stadium, Jammu. During this event, he will inaugurate, dedicate to the nation, and lay the foundation stone for various development projects. These projects span critical sectors such as health, education, rail, road, aviation, petroleum, and civic infrastructure. The cumulative value of these initiatives exceeds Rs 30,500 crore.
  2. Education Boost: As part of the government’s commitment to education, several prestigious institutes will be inaugurated and dedicated to the nation. These include:
    • IIT Jammu
    • IIM Jammu
    • IIT Bhilai
    • IIT Tirupati
    • IIITDM Kancheepuram
    • IIM Bodh Gaya
    • IIM Visakhapatnam
    • Indian Institute of Skills (IIS) Kanpur.
  3. Healthcare Milestone: The Prime Minister will also inaugurate the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) in Vijaypur (Samba), Jammu. This state-of-the-art medical facility will provide comprehensive healthcare services to the people of Jammu and Kashmir.
  4. Railway Bridge and River Rejuvenation: Among the key projects, the world’s highest railway bridge over the Chenab River will be inaugurated. Additionally, the Devika River Rejuvenation Project—north India’s first—will receive its official dedication.
  5. Government Recruitment: Prime Minister Modi will distribute appointment orders to approximately 1500 new Government recruits from the Jammu and Kashmir region, reinforcing employment opportunities and administrative strength.
  6. Beneficiaries Interaction: As part of the ‘Viksit Bharat Viksit Jammu’ program, the Prime Minister will engage with beneficiaries of various government schemes, emphasizing the government’s commitment to inclusive development.

Security arrangements have been intensified in the region ahead of the Prime Minister’s visit. The people of Jammu eagerly await this momentous occasion, which promises to transform the landscape of the region and enhance the quality of life for its residents.
