Union Minister Arjun Ram Meghwal Announces Appointment of New Supreme Court Justices

New Delhi: Union Minister of State (I/C) for Law and Justice, Arjun Ram Meghwal, has disclosed the appointment of Chief Justice H N Kotiswar Singh of the High Court of Jammu & Kashmir and Ladakh, along with Judge R Mahadevan from the Madras High Court, as Judges of the Supreme Court.

In a formal announcement today, Minister Meghwal highlighted the significant appointments to the country’s highest judicial body, underscoring their extensive judicial experience and contributions to the legal profession.

“The President has appointed Chief Justice H N Kotiswar Singh and Judge R Mahadevan as Judges of the Supreme Court,” stated Minister Meghwal, affirming the appointments following due deliberations and considerations.

Chief Justice H N Kotiswar Singh brings a wealth of judicial expertise from his tenure at the High Court of Jammu & Kashmir and Ladakh, where he has presided over critical legal matters pertinent to the region’s unique socio-political landscape.

Similarly, Judge R Mahadevan’s elevation from the Madras High Court reflects his distinguished career and significant contributions to jurisprudence, particularly in matters affecting southern India’s legal framework and governance.
