PM Modi Commends Growth of CDRI at International Conference on Disaster Resilient Infrastructure

Prime Minister Narendra Modi, in his address at the ‘International Conference on Disaster Resilient Infrastructure 2024: Investing Today for a More Resilient Tomorrow’, held at Bharat Mandapam, praised the remarkable progress of the Coalition for Disaster Resilient Infrastructure (CDRI).

“In the last few years, the growth of the CDRI has been commendable,” stated PM Modi. “We have made significant strides since its inception in 2019. Today, it stands as a global coalition comprising 39 countries and 7 organizations. This is a promising sign for the future.”

Launched in 2019, the CDRI has experienced substantial development and expansion, now encompassing a global coalition that includes 39 countries and 7 organizations. The coalition’s primary objective is to advocate for the resilience of both new and existing infrastructure systems to climate and disaster risks, thereby fostering sustainable development.

Themed ‘Investing Today for a More Resilient Tomorrow’, the conference convened global leaders, experts, and stakeholders to deliberate and exchange best practices and innovative approaches aimed at enhancing the resilience of infrastructure to disasters.
